Alloyed - It consists of mixing two or more metals by means of casting, in order to obtain bonds, colors or hardness. The most common alloys in jewelry are those related to gold, silver and platinum with other metals, such as copper, zinc, palladium etc. Laminate - It is the operation that allows to obtain sheets or sheets of a certain thickness starting from a mass of greater caliber. This operation is carried out by means of a laminator. Wire drawing - It is the operation that allows us to obtain a wire of the desired caliber starting from a thicker wire. This operation is done in the drawing machine and / or row. Interpretation of the model (Fire Punch) - For the realization of a jewel, the fire punch normally starts with a drawing or design previously made. To do this, draw on a sheet of ordinary thickness and chosen metal, the contours of the different pieces of which the jewel will be composed. Once the layout is made, cut the sheet, following the previous lines, using a saw (segueteado). The pieces, already cut into flat sheet metal, will probably need volumes and three-dimensional shapes. To do this, various tools are used (embossing, lastras, Tas, bigornia, lead cake, etc ...) These already shaped pieces are joined together by the welding process, which is the technique most used in the creation of a jewel (with the name of welding is also known as the metal used to join the pieces). Filing - Filing is necessary to remove excess material. With filing the jeweler finishes giving the exact shape to the pieces while reviewing surfaces and edges. Sanding - With the previous phase (filing) we have finished the structure of the jewel, but this must be sanded thoroughly to eliminate the marks produced by the tool in the metal and favor obtaining a good polish. Polishing - Procedure to eliminate roughness of the metal surface and give the necessary brightness to the presentation of the jewel. There are several techniques or forms of polishing: -Hand polished with cotton threads and rods, very used for a good finish in high jewelry pieces. -Mechanical polishing by rollers (polishing). -Polished in a drum. -Electropulide (Anodic solution).
